Michael is the elder son of Joe Gaiger, one of the founders of Gaiger Bros Ltd. he graduated from Manchester Univsersity in 1968 and worked for Bovis before joining Gaiger Bros in 1971. He and his brother Vincent continued the development of the company, handing over the control and ownership to the next generation around 2010. Whilst no longer involved in day to day operations, he maintains a keen interest in the company but now has plenty of time to spend with his 10 grand children and wife of 53 years, Judy.

James joined the company in 1998. Within the company James, along with brother Graham, oversees all aspects of the construction side of the business as well as any developments. Outside of work, James’ great love is sport, in the form of coaching rugby and watching his daughters play netball, cricket and hockey, with the occasional game of cricket for himself thrown in when time allows.

Sam joined the company in 1999 straight after university. An accountant by trade, Sam is in charge of the financial side of the company and wider business interests. Having played for Devizes Hockey Club and Potterne Cricket Club in his younger days, Sam has taken great pleasure in managing and coaching his children’s junior hockey and cricket sides in recent years. He can still be seen playing the odd game of veterans hockey and fourth team cricket.

Graham joined the company after graduating in 1993. He jointly manages the Construction section of the business with his brother James. Outside of work he enjoys football (particularly following Bristol Rovers), coaching and watching cricket at his local club Potterne and Somerset CCC,music, and spending time with his family.

Basil joined the company in September 2017 after graduating from Loughborough University, studying Construction Engineering Management. Basil is originally from Essex, but used to commute to work from Somerset before moving to Devizes in 2021. He now enjoys the quiet countryside life with his wife and two labradors. Basil is a keen sportsman, who loves going to the gym, playing/coaching cricket at his local club Potterne CC, he enjoys playing golf and watching the boxing.

Chris joined the company in 1994 after working for several years as a subcontractor for Gaigers prior. Outside of work he enjoys watching football, particularly following Swindon Town, watching Bath Rugby and playing golf as well as spending time with his family and supporting his daughter’s Tap Dance journey all over Europe.

David joined Gaiger Brothers in 1993 and has carried out work in all sectors. David started as a labourer straight out of school, and moved up the ranks to a Contracts Manager, studying for a degree in Construction whilst working. He now looks after the small works, dealing with mainly domestic clients and Wadworths. Outside of work David enjoys watching his girls play hockey, netball and tennis. David was a keen sportsman but he now just enjoys the odd social game of golf and cricket.

Denis Brought up on a stud farm in southern Ireland, but had absolutely no interest in the horse industry so he trained as a carpenter/Joiner and came to England in the early 1990’s. He has worked in the industry ever since and eventually after time in Kent, London and Reading ended up in Wiltshire. Denis has been working for Gaigers since 2015. He loves the golf and a bit of rugby, whilst he may miss his Harley he is now kept busy with a young family.

Max joined the company in January 2022 after working as an M&E Package Manager on a nuclear project near Reading. Prior to that Max worked as a Electrical Engineer carrying out voltage control upgrades on the electrical distribution network. Outside of work, Max is a keen sportsman, spending plenty of time playing cricket at Potterne CC and golf at North Wilts Golf Club.

Sid joined the company approximately 12 years ago as a Labour/Multi-trade and was a subcontractor before that. He has gained all his plant and machinery tickets and also his lorry licence. He has worked his way up to Contracts Manager, having completed his CITB SMSTS, full First Aid and Temporary Works Supervisor training. Sid has been running works for the MOD for the last two years.

David joined the company as a site manager in July 2023. David was previously a director of his own company running various projects from rail, domestic housing and projects for us for over 22 years. Outside of work David enjoys golf and following sport. He is kept busy with his two children and dogs.

Don started with Gaiger in 2000 as a Site Manager and has worked in the industry for more than 50 years. In his younger days he was a keen sportsman playing Rugby, Football, Cricket, Squash, Cycling and on many occasions he was Wilts DTL Clay Pigeon Champion and team captain. Now his main interest is photography where he likes to capture nature in the raw.

Having previously run his own Stonemason company, Phil has worked for Gaiger Bros for over 20 years. With a huge interest in Construction, Phil’s background has enabled him to bring knoweldge to the company whilst learning all the time. Phil enjoys the challenge of a job, using his skills to provide a good outcome for all involved. As well as his great interest in construction, Phil has a keen interest in health wildlife and refurbishing canal boats.

Sam joined the company straight from school in 2006 as an apprentice carpenter. Being practical and mechanically minded, Sam enjoyed his time ‘on the tools’ working on a vast variety of projects. Right up until 2021 where he started his new role in Gaiger Brothers as a site manager. Outside of work Sam enjoys the outdoors with his partner and spaniel, action sports, and setting a challenge. This year being triathlons, finishing with an Ironman. Next year Sam’s sight is on another trip from Devizes to Westminster in a kayak.

Tony started working for Gaiger Bros in 2005 as a Site Manager and have worked in the industry since 1982 carrying out a City and Guilds Apprenticeship in Plastering and then studying to gain ACIOB accreditation in Construction Management. He has 3 Children and 2 new Grandchildren that keep him busy.

Pete joined the company in 1982 as an Electrician and is now the Manager of a small team. He has a wealth of knowledge including Industrial, Commercial and Domestic Installations. Alongside this he has also gained a Domestic Ventilation Qualification. Outside of work Pete enjoys good walks along the coastline and relaxing on a beach. Also spending quality time with his family and four grandsons.

Gary joined Gaigers as an apprentice mechanic straight from school 25 years ago. He now manages the plant and vehicle side of the company. Outside of work Gary enjoys playing football for his local Vets team after many years playing for Devizes Town, he has a young family which keeps him busy but he manages to play a round of golf and watch the football now and then!

Nick joined the company in 2022 after 20 years working as a land development consultant based in Reading, Bristol and Oxford delivering residential led development proposals. With support from the Directors, Nick leads our search for new sites with residential development potential, engaging with landowners and agents, before overseeing design and technical promotional work to secure planning permission prior to site purchase and development delivery. Nick continues to play cricket, tennis and golf socially and is actively involved in running the Poulshot village cricket team, when he’s not ferrying his two children to football, netball, hockey, cricket and a host of other clubs.
