    About the development

    We’re thrilled to unveil the newly completed Sixth Form study area at Dauntsey’s School.

    Gaiger Brothers worked closely with Dauntsey’s to create a space that balances natural light, sustainable materials, and adaptable layouts to support various learning styles and activities. The space encourages independent study, group discussions, and digital learning, reflecting the evolving needs of modern education.

    We’re proud to have contributed to a project that supports academic excellence and fosters a dynamic learning community.

    About the development

    Gaiger Brothers recently delivered a modern study space designed specifically to support GCSE students.

    The brief was to create an environment that would feel both practical and inspiring, somewhere that encourages focus while also being comfortable and inviting.

    Key features include:

    • Soft seating areas and touches of greenery, promoting wellbeing alongside productivity.
    • Reconfigured layout to allow for both group work and individual study.
    • Fresh interior design with bright, contemporary furniture in warm tones to add energy and vibrancy.

    The result is a study hub that balances functionality with style, a place where students can feel motivated, supported, and ready to achieve their best.

    School Transformation

    About the project

    The development of Daunsey’s school was a long-term project.

    Spanning three years, we transformed the centre of the school into a modern hub that still respects the prestige of the original manor.

    Part One: Multifunctional hub

    In the first stretch of the Dautsey’s School development, we added a new building to the site.

    Situated between the swimming pool and the sports hall, the building’s primary installation was a state-of-the-art dance studio with brand new changing rooms. The building also hosted a new reception area and a viewing balcony, offering fabulous views over the campus.

    Part Two: Sport Pavilion

    The second phase of the development involved upgrading the school’s sports facilities. We created a fantastic new sports pavilion integrated with many more changing rooms.

    The multifunctional space can also be used for lectures, talks, and concerts in addition to its primary use as a sports hall. The roof hosts another viewing area, fitted with a large bar, suitable for social functions.

    Part Three: Maths and Geography Block

    The final stage of Daunsey’s development was the construction of a brand new, two-storey Maths and Geography block. 

    As the final stage of the development came to a close, we took time to install a significant amount of landscaping and planting to ensure the natural feel of the campus continued even amongst the new buildings.

    Planning achieved for 50 new homes

    About the development

    We wanted to bring a community-focused approach to a new development in West Lavington.

    We promoted the site for residential development through the Neighbourhood Planning process for West Lavington and Littleton Panell before securing an outline planning consent for 50 dwellings, with a high level of community involvement throughout. This ultimately resulted in this site being selected as the single preferred housing site to serve this Large Village, which benefits from a good range of facilities and services including primary and secondary schools which are within an easy walk of the site.

    • Location: West Lavington, Wiltshire
    • Size: 7.9 acres, delivering 50 units

    Community First

    Consulting with the Neighbourhood

    During the Neighbourhood Plan consultation process, it became clear that there was broad understanding amongst the community about the positive impacts that new development can have on the village including:

    •  The type of housing needed for the village: a good proportion of affordable, accessible and small to medium sized family homes.
    • Increasing village numbers to help support the village’s facilities including Dauntsey Academy Primary School, the village shop, doctor’s surgery and public house.
    • Additional monies secured through Community Infrastructure Levy: 25% of the CIL monies would come directly back to the parish.
    • Reduced traffic congestion by creating a new access to the neighbouring primary school and a dedicated school car park/ drop off facility.

    After securing outline planning consent in September 2021, the site was sold to Hayfield Homes in 2022 and who are now building out the site with site sales from Spring 2023.
