We are pleased to announce a significant milestone in our environmental sustainability journey. As part of our ambitious drive to become carbon zero, we have made the strategic decision to transition our fleet from traditional diesel to Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel wherever operationally possible.
This forward-thinking initiative represents a substantial commitment to environmental responsibility and is projected to deliver impressive results.
The transition is estimated to cut the company’s Scope 1 emissions by a remarkable 57%. A figure that is sure to continue to grow as the fleet undergoes modernisation and expansion in the coming years.
HVO fuel, derived from renewable sources such as vegetable oils and animal fats, offers a cleaner-burning alternative to conventional diesel while maintaining comparable fleets seeking to reduce their environmental impact, without compromising operational efficiency.
‘Scope 1 & Scope 2 emissions are items that we are most in control of in our quest to become a carbon-zero company. This is a significant step in our journey, and we will continue to source ways of reducing our carbon footprint.’
Director Sam Gaiger emphasised the strategic importance of this decision, stating:
‘This fleet transition marks just the beginning of our comprehensive carbon-zero strategy, with additional sustainability initiatives planned for implementation.’
